Echos of 24:21

An appearance was made
by the shaytan today,
on the Rideau canal.
Strutting, I saw a Jinn
or something, moving
beside me, a lusty
shadow in my secret
mind? --Racing.
Rejecting.

Believing men lower their gaze!

Feeling down?

Despondency is the opposite of everything that faith gives us.

It rejects the truth that Allah (swt) directs all of His creation and watches over every individual and assists each one in what he must accomplish…

Alhamdulillah

Parachute games
Black white red yellow
Made of Jannah's silk

Peace blowing in the trees
of a Canadian park

Faith-filled boys &

Bring more light!

Laxity creates hopelessness. To be emotionally strong, a person needs to be positively influencing his surroundings, encouraging those about him and bringing in more light.

a young man, crying silently, in
a detox clinic, in obvious withdrawal,

A taste of tomorrow?

Dark excuses

Despondency is the mundane excuse for avoiding one’s purpose in this dunya.

And a sense of purpose is the best way to avoid depression.

Today's todo list:

1.

Live shahadah...
To improve upon salat...
To make works for goodness
in this dunya...
Reflect upon Ramadan...
Continue my journey to Hajj...

2.

Gain favour
with private fervour

(even the happy Muslim-Poet is
scared of Allah).

3.

Tread lightly
upon the thin
straight
path.

Learn together

Sit and work together with other believers. Soon you will see you can do as well as them. Then the inner strength of your nafs will begin to shine through.

Life

As I look back
over my life
I am struck by the
photographs.

Ruined photographs.

Faded memories
Of a time, in another

life.

just a question

Does the 'Muslim' who you think you are exist?

Come

Come.

For this world lies
broken & falling
twisted words dangle
on the serpent's tongue
& golems glide smugly
from place to place
Gaunt crippled tribes
Strangle their children
In the West in the cities
the hum of mind numbing
life begins

Turn around

Go East, now come

See the good

Everything that occurs is a blessing from Allah (swt), and He is only good. But if you and your world are not prepared to receive such good, the blessing of Allah (swt) itself may appear as bad. Struggle to see the good, offer salat sincerely and think unquestionably --and then the good will become revealed.

Unity postponed no more

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

May Peace, Mercy, and Blessings Be Upon You.

How much longer will the people our community continue to be split into two camps: secular Muslims and members of the Ummah of Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wa salaam, our Prophet? Obviously, unity must be established by having all the others become members of the Muslim Ummah and not the opposite, insha'Allah.

Upon whom should the responsibility for refining your community in this way be placed? How much longer will this matter be postponed?

Concluding with greetings to our entire ummah and with prayers for all types of everlasting goodness,

/Signed:Nuh/

An awakening

Why do I drink tea?
So that I can write poetry.

Sometimes when witr has come and gone
and exhaustion changes
into a standing sleep
There is an awakening
and all that remains is Haqq.
As the mind and body expire
the nafs grows stronger.

Ya Allah, forgive me.
I want to hear the Poem
by which I'll be judged.

Feeble ideas

AbdurRahman of South Africa found himself in debt with the repayment date set for the next day and the resources with which to repay nowhere in sight.

He was a righteous believer with strong iman. Long ago he had placed himself totally in the hands of Allah (swt), and knew that he had no need to be concerned.

Wanting to further demonstrate to Al-Khaaliq how perfect his faith and trust were, he sat down with a piece of paper. On it he wrote out 10 different scenarios in which the money needed to pay back the debt could come his way. The rest of the evening passed, AbdurRahman prayed isha'a salat and gave the situation no further thought.

The morning came, and no sooner did AbdurRahman finish his fajr prayers, than did the required sum appear. But the money came to him, in a 11th way, according to a scenario that he didn't think to write down.

"Masha'Allah, masha'Allah!", he exclaimed, thoroughly disappointed with himself. "Is Al-Khaaliq limited to the feeble ideas of AbdurRahman!?"

The measureless

A person is happy when he knows something of substance belongs to him. A person is very happy when he feels he owns something very great substance.

We are all measured owners of the Measureless.

A constant thought

Always remember
that Allah
is with
you.
Never let this
thought
leave your
mind.

Go deeper and
deeper into
it
every hour
every minute
every second
and in every
place.
